hello there! i go by basil on the internet. i use any pronouns but prefer feminine terms. at the time of writing, i am 17 years old.

i'm a huge computer nerd, having been a Linux user almost half my life. i'm familiar with many UNIX-like operating systems. currently i use Gentoo Linux on my workstation and Alpine Linux on my server, but i have prior experience with macOS and FreeBSD. i'm also a Rust programmer with additional experience in Python, JavaScript, Java, and formerly Zig and Go. i want to learn Odin as well. i recently received my CCNA (Cisco Certified Networking Associate) certification, and will be working on the CCNP certification soon.

i enjoy music a lot and i would call myself an audiophile. i've collected 22 vinyls and amassed a significant digital collection as well. see my rateyourmusic page. my current digital setup is a FiiO K11 DAC + Beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X headphones tuned to JM-1 + Harman filters. i use Jellyfin + Feishin for my collection. my current analog setup is a Rega Planar 2 turntable + Onkyo TX-NR737 stereo receiver wired up to refurbished Boston Acoustic A60 Series II speakers.

i probably sound apathetic and boring from what you're reading here but i promise i'm interesting to talk to, i'm just neurodivergent. i enjoy games like Geometry Dash, Minecraft, and Titanfall 2, and i'd love to meet more people who enjoy them or share other hobbies with me. feel free to reach out, i don't bite
